Gary Krimstein is the co-owner of Beckstein Productions, a full-service video production company in North Potomac, Maryland. He is an award-winning producer, videographer, and editor, with more than 18 years of experience in television. The documentary he recently co-produced with his wife, “A Cancer Rainbow: Snapshots From My Journey” aired on about 50 public television stations across the country. The film has been honored with a Gracie Award, a Telly Award, a Gold Medal at the New York International Video and Film Festival, a Platinum Award at the Houston International Film Festival, an Emmy nomination.
As the Senior Editor at Ventana Productions in Washington, D.C., he edited the award-winning documentary, “American Lives: Jewish Stories.” While at Ventana, he also edited “Red Light Survivors,” a documentary on prostitution, which aired on MSNBC. His other credits while at Ventana include segments for the National Geographic Channel, The Discovery Science Channel, and Home and Garden Television.
Gary also worked more than four years producing and editing sports features for the nationally syndicated George Michael Sports Machine and the NBC owned station in Washington, D.C.
Before moving to Washington, Gary spent 6 years at the CBS affiliate in Hartford, Connecticut, where he worked on special projects, news specials, and documentaries. “Coming Home to Say Goodbye,” a documentary he edited on Hospice Care, won the bronze medal at the New York International Video and Film Competition.
Gary’s broadcast career began at the CBS affiliate in Richmond, Virginia. His work as a news photographer there helped him craft his talent as a creative television editor.
During his career, he has won numerous awards including eight Emmy awards and six Telly awards.
Gary is a 1986 graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism.
